Student Technical Assistent - Rotary Dryer Utilization for Comunity Sevice

Supported the implementation and trial of a rotary dryer for coffee bean drying as part of a community service project, collaborating with lecturers, students, equipment manufacturers, and community partners.

Served as a Student Technical Assistant in a community service project conducted by Politeknik Negeri Malang (POLINEMA) for a community partner, focusing on the utilization of a rotary dryer for coffee bean drying. The project was carried out in collaboration with lecturers and a team of students from Information Technology, combining technical and digital expertise to support the implementation of the equipment.

My main responsibility was to conduct trials of the rotary dryer using coffee beans provided by the community partner. During the trials, I assisted in determining and monitoring key drying parameters, including drying temperature, drying time, and moisture content, to evaluate the drying process and support the appropriate operating conditions for the equipment.

I also contributed to the development of a tutorial video explaining the operation and utilization of the rotary dryer, as well as documenting the implementation activities. In addition, I assisted in explaining the equipment and its operation to the community partner to support knowledge transfer and practical use of the technology.

As part of the implementation process, I also communicated and coordinated with the third-party equipment manufacturer regarding the equipment and its trial operation. This involved conveying field conditions, discussing technical matters, and supporting communication between the equipment provider, the POLINEMA team, and the community partner.

This experience strengthened my practical understanding of drying processes and equipment operation, particularly in relation to temperature, drying time, and moisture content. It also developed my skills in technical communication, equipment testing, documentation, coordination with external parties, and knowledge transfer to community partners.
